I’m Claudia Rose — a dynamic new voice in contemporary art, even if I still sometimes laugh at how quickly that title landed on me. I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in 2023, and before the year was out, I’d closed my first sold-out show. My studio — affectionately known as my “circus tent” — is where I strip back the armour, dive into raw creativity, and let myself play. What comes out is vivid, sassy, and unapologetically liberating.

My work pulses with the same confidence and courage I carry into life. Born in the country with a deep connection to the land, I later found myself by Newcastle’s water’s edge when my family took a leap into the unknown. From the very beginning, I was encouraged to dream big, live authentically, and never dim my energy. That freedom and fire is the backbone of everything I create today.

For me, art is more than colour and canvas — it’s storytelling, it’s expression, it’s impact. Every piece is me saying: this is the female story as I’ve lived it, this is what it feels like to be bold, to be soft, to be fierce, to be free.

The stage is set, the paint is fresh, and every piece is me. No holding back. No playing small. So step in, lean in — and dare to be bold with me.
