Ikigai
A Japanese word, a way of being. Iki (life) and gai (value, worth).
Their culture encourages one to attempt in passion, follow what they are good at in profession. To be devoted to the mission, and unified with what the world needs. Its this wholistic and harmonising system of giving and receiving.
“To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent people & the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics & endure the betrayal in others; to leave the world a better place whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because of you. This is to have succeeded.” - In Berlin on a chalkboard.
Yours truly, Claudia Rose
