This piece is my—Me Too, in my words, my way.
Its colourful, playful and anything but the raw, real and lonely journey.
This is not the hurt. This is not the shame. The darkness nor the trauma.
This is the power of ‘me too’. This is the countless stories shared. The authors educating me. The strength in survivors, leading a life despite. The musicians who heal with you, the lawyers who understand, the mothers who care, and the art that speaks where words fail.
A healed wound encourages a freshly opened one of the power that’s not lost.
This is my healed wound. My power. My peace of mind. My flowers.
I love you. You are fiercely brave. You will rebuild stronger. You can rise and you will rise. Just as the sun does each and every day.
Ill leave you with a comment from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie;
"I have chosen to no longer be apologetic for my femaleness and for my femininity. And I want to be respected in all of my femaleness because I deserve to be”.
Me too, no longer am I apologetic for my femaleness, Me too desire respect, & Me too deserve it.
Yours truly, Claudia Rose
