Inspired by The Queen’s Gambit, a show following a brilliant, lonely, and fascinating character.

Across the subject’s eyes, the words read “Written on the Roof”. For those unfamiliar, as a child, she begins to see a chessboard on the ceiling—playing out moves and games in her mind. I loved this visualization; it reminded me of my own before-bed rituals.

I used to come up with lyrics, perform on my bed, host talks to my large audience of toys, see images in the darkness, and ask all the whys of the world.

what did you see? Think about? Practice? And what if those things were our superpower? What if we worked out a way to fulfill things that fulfill us.

I started asking this very question. It so far has led me to painting. I am endeavouring to bring the dreams at night to the light of day. & it’s my expansion of life, my conversation to the world.

You should treat your dreams with the upmost seriousness!!

So if you don’t dream anymore, don’t allow yourself to go there before you stricken with doubt, disbelief and NO.

I ask you now, take a little moment for yourself. (no one’s looking)

Think of that little girl, that little boy. Picture your bedroom, what did it look like? feel like? smell like? Get yourself there. A sorry may be in order for neglecting her/him… then just sit or lie with them. They will dream limitlessly and effortlessly. Observe. Learn. And Join.
