From the darkest, deepest and thickest mud a lotus rises.

Tina Turner known as the Lotus because of her likeness to the conditions of the flower. Her upbringing was anything but optimal, nothing but dark, deep dirt, & bare barren to any bloom.

She was resilient, spirited and powerful. Her life helped unearth the grit within me, teeth clenched, body strong. a fierce expression of woman.

She left us with an array of songs that can transport us to feel, heal and shimmy our hurts away. I couldn’t be more grateful for her and the inspiration she’s been to me.

In tribute I give you roses, I give you an oath to lead my life; relentless, spirited, strong, and courageous.
